St. Augustine is located between North East and Central East Florida and is just a 30 minutes drive from Jacksonville and a 1.5 hour from Orlando and all its parks. The oldest continuously occupied European settlement in America was founded by Pedro Menéndez de Avilés on the feast day of St Augustine in 1565. The city burned in down 1702, but was quickly rebuilt in the shelter of the massive Castillo de San Marcos (http://www.nps.gov/casa/).

Many of the picturesque narrow streets of the Old City date from this period. Henry Flagler was on his honeymoon in 1883 very charmed of St. Augustine. A year later he built the Ponce de Leon Hotel, now know as Flagler College
(http://www.flagler.edu/).

The stream of visitors soon became a flood and St. Augustine has become a major tourist attraction. Today it offers many attractions, including nearly 70 km of sandy beach and several golf courses and marinas in the immediate vicinity.

Northern Florida offers a year-round mild climate, perfect for a walk through St Augustine's historic district with its cobbled streets, great cafes, bars and unique shops.
